报告摘要: The issue of securing global energy supplies remains a challenge. Despite the increasing demand foienergy in the future global economy, the majority of the world’s energy needs (over 80%) are still met by fossil fuelssuch as coal. gas and oil The relentless economic growth of non-0ECD nations is expected to result in a 70% rise irenergy demands by 2040, posing a significant threat to global energy security. As resources dwindle, the consequencesfor people’s quality of life and national economies could be severe. To address this 1ssue, research & developments arebeing conducted to develop new sustainable sources of clean energy. Geothermal energy, which is the thermal energyfound in rocks deep below the earth’s surface, is a promising option. Despite its potential, geothermal energy alscposes some challenges. In this presentation, the focus is on the global potential for geothermal energy, with a specifiemphasis on the reserves in Australia. The presentation will also cover the Enhanced Geothermal Project in Australiaincluding the challenges faced and the methods used to overcome them in order to increase flow rates and recoveisignificant amounts of power from deep rocks. In the end, this clean energy will help achieve the global goal otreaching net-zero emissions
